
Japanese people eat food using chopsticks. Dishes are designed to be eaten with chopsticks – food is presented in small, mouthful size pieces. Yes, even noodles can be eaten with chopsticks.
Western-style restaurants (“family” restaurants) often have spoons and forks available on the table, but many restaurants only have chopsticks at the table – you will have to ask for spoons or a fork and they may not be available.
