30. Beware of the deer at Nara

deer.jpg

The main tourist attraction at Nara (close to Kyoto) is the large wooden temple, surrounded by beautiful grounds of cherry trees (beautiful at blossom time) and roaming (tame?) deer.

The deer are getting very used to tourists, and so are not afraid of humans, and after years of getting snacks from tourists, can be quite aggressive if they think/sniff food in your bags or pockets.

So it’s best not to encourage them. Just admire the temple.
