
At times it seems that Japan has more vending machines than people. They are everywhere. And in a country with virtually no vandalism, they can be positioned lonely in a park.
Prices are a bargain (drinks for about $US1). Water, fruit juices, soft drinks, milk drinks, hot and cold coffee are most common. In hotels, beer may be available. On train station platforms, maybe ice-creams, books, snack foods, umbrellas.
